S. Korea Posts 8.4 Percent Surge in Exports for Sixth Straight Month

(MENAFN) South Korea posted its sixth straight month of export growth in November, driven by surging demand for semiconductors and vehicles, official figures released Monday revealed.

Outbound shipments climbed 8.4 percent year-over-year to reach $61.04 billion last month, extending an upward trajectory that began in June, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources reported.

On a daily average basis, exports surged 13.3 percent to $2.71 billion—delivering the strongest November performance on record.

Inbound shipments edged up 1.2 percent to $51.30 billion during the same period.

Semiconductor sales skyrocketed 38.6 percent annually, hitting an unprecedented $17.26 billion in November as artificial intelligence proliferation fueled global chip demand.

Auto exports jumped 13.7 percent to $6.41 billion, bolstered by robust U.S. market appetite.

Regionally, sales to the United States, the European Union, Japan, and Latin America declined, while shipments to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Middle East registered gains.
