South Korea’s Leader Approval Rating Climbs to 74.7 Percent
Negative evaluations of Lee’s handling of state affairs dropped by 0.7 percentage points, settling at 22.7 percent, based on data collected through computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) conducted by local polling firm Flower Research.
The ruling liberal Democratic Party achieved a peak approval rating for the year at 57.8 percent, outperforming the conservative opposition People Power Party by a wide margin of 37.1 percentage points, which stood at 20.7 percent.
Among smaller parties, the left-leaning Rebuilding Korea Party recorded 3.5 percent support, while the right-leaning New Reform Party garnered 2.9 percent last week.
A separate poll using the automated response system (ARS) confirmed a similar upward trend, showing Lee’s approval rating increased by 0.6 percentage points to 68.3 percent compared to the previous week.
Both the CATI and ARS surveys sampled roughly 1,000 voters each from Friday to Saturday, with margins of error at plus or minus 3.1 percentage points and a confidence level of 95 percent.
